to get started…

every print project is unique and if you have multiple designs you’d like to print, each design will require its own custom quote. we have capabilities for up to 8 colors.

to receive a custom quote:

1) select your desired blank styles - see our recommended styles below or browse all available styles

2) gather your desired sizes/quantities - we have price breaks at 12, 24, 48, 72, 96, 144 and 288, and 576 pieces per design

3) email us the artwork - the artwork should be color separated and scaled to your desired print size at 300dpi or higher resolution for raster images. the higher res & better quality your images, the better detail we will be able to achieve in print. if your art is not color separated or print-ready we will let you know - we can also help to get it there. we accept most file formats, including .ai, .svg, .psd, .pdf, & .jpg formats

4) we’ll email back a quote to confirm details, and once you approve the order we’ll schedule it in

please check out our shop policies at the end of this page more more info.

selecting blank styles

the best way to pick which blank tees to get is to dig out your favorite tees from your own closet - the ones that fit you well & have stood the test of time through much adventure and many washings. check the tags for the brands and fabric info - see whether they’re made of 100% cotton or a blended fabric like cotton/poly or poly/cotton/rayon. as printers, we favor 100% cotton or cotton-rich blends as they tend to print better with our favorite inks, but if you choose a shirt with more synthetic fibers we’ll still find the right ink to pair with the material to get the job done right. still not sure? read on for more on our recommended styles below.

super soft cotton tees

first, we’ll start with the super soft tees. in merch-speak, the brands call it “ring-spun” cotton - it’s cotton made by a different process than regular cotton, with a finer weave. due to the smoothness of the fabric, we prefer printing on ring-spun cotton over regular cottons. water-based inks work particularly well on these, and the material is nice and light. with the exception of the roomier hanes “beefy” tee, these styles have a slightly more fitted retail cut and are suitable as unisex tees.

best priced tees

sometimes you’re on a budget because when all is said and done you want to keep your retail pricing low for your customers. these are our favorite picks of the most affordable tees. they’re made of midweight cottons, and tend to have a fuller/more generous cut than the super soft types above. if you want to cover a wide range of body types, you may want to opt for one of these.

ladies tees

ladies clothing sizes vary widely for many brands and t-shirts tend to run small, so we’ve picked out our favorite styles which are suited for a wider range of body types. as with all merch ordering, if you’re unsure of which styles will fit best, consider making an appointment to visit the shop & you can check out or some samples in person before ordering. you may want to consider choosing a unisex style from the super soft group above too.

policies

turnaround time

our standard turnaround is 2 weeks from the date your order is approved, however at times it can vary in range from 1-3.5 weeks.

file setup

if you are able, please separate the colors in your art by providing each color in its own layer. each color will need to be 100% opaque in order to be made into a stencil, so any grayscale or shading will be interpreted into halftone dots or a “dither” (low-level noise) to mimic the shading effect in print. for art that needs a little love, we can help with formatting too. please size your file to 100% scale as you’d like it printed, or tell us your desired width or height measurements and we can size up the prints for you.

screen setups

we offer a range of screen sizes. images up to 13x16” are regular, images up to 14x19” are large, and images up to 16.5x22.5” are jumbo. we will set up and charge for 1 screen per color that’s needed in the art. for re-orders of previous designs, screen setups are 50% off on the subsequent orders.

color matching

if you need your colors matched, please use pantone solid coated colors in your file. we can also color match to the computer monitor but this is more subjective as monitors vary and some monitor colors are out of the range of what’s achievable in in print. certain inks such as super-soft water-based “discharge” may vary slightly shirt to shirt. while we’ll do our best to keep colors consistent from run to run, we don’t guarantee an exact color match on re-orders - this is because dye batches vary for different batches of shirts, and our inks may react slightly differently to different dye batches.

ink types

we print with a variety of inks. some inks are more suitable for certain materials than others, so we’ll consider your chosen blank material, your artwork, and the desired effect when selecting which inks to use for best results. if you have a preference, please let us know. some inks and processes require extra fees depending on the art.
water-based “discharge” inks are our favorite inks & are best for light images on dark cotton shirts. these inks work by bleaching the dye color of the fabric out and replacing the dye color with a new color. due to the nature of the process, colors may vary slightly from shirt to shirt. once the printed shirts are washed, they’re super soft to the touch, and the prints will have a matte finish. as with all printed garments it’s recommended to wash on a cold cycle. printed colors may lighten very slightly over repeated washings and we are not responsible for wear due to harsh detergents or laundering habits.
plastisol (oil-based) inks have a thicker ink deposit on the surface of the shirt. they are ideal if you want to print with a glossier finish, and they’re also great for printing synthetic blends with bold colors. we choose plastisols to use for certain specialty effects such as metallic, glow-in-the-dark, neon, or puff-textured prints.
standard water-based or high solid acrylic inks are great for printing on light colored, cotton-rich tees. they fall somewhere between the super soft discharge and oil-based inks in terms of softness & feel.

apparel subjectivity

while we will do our best in helping you select garments to your liking, we expect you to research which styles to pick in advance and ultimately we are not responsible if you end up disliking a garment you select due to its style, sizing, fabric, or quality after it’s printed. for sizing info, spec sheets with specific measurements can be found here in each style’s page detail (see view specs button) and we recommend doing your due diligence to ensure the garment is going to fit as you wish. you can always order a sample of something to check out first if you want to make sure you’ll like it, although ordering a sample will add to your project’s turnaround time and there may be added shipping costs involved. samples & sample shipping costs will be invoiced separately from your main order.

5% shortage allowance

while we will do everything in our power to deliver the best prints possible, sometimes shit happens. printing mistakes occur, & occasionally we get sent defective blanks with holes, irregular dye spots, or sewing mistakes. for this reason there may be an under-run shortage of up to 5% of the total quantity, which is industry standard. if you need exact quantities for an order, please make sure to order a few extra pieces of each size to leave room for the unexpected. when misprints occur during the print run we may fill in the quantity with a blank shirt of the same or better price/quality; occasionally the fill-in piece may be a different size than the misprint. if no comparable extra blanks are available to fill-in, we will subtract the cost of the misprinted item(s) from your invoice. you can always bring defects to our attention to handle on a case-by-case basis. we may refuse to provide fill-ins or refunds for items that are damaged once they leave the shop.

payment terms

we accept checks, cash, credit cards, and paypal. when an order is approved, we take a 50% deposit to order the blank materials, then the other 50% is due upon receipt/delivery of the printed goods.

shipping

if you need your order shipped, please provide us with your shipping address along with your quote request. shipping costs are separate from the initial order invoice total.
